Pitta Nature Tours
Covid Protocols

Like everyone else in the nature travel industry, 2020 was a difficult year for Pitta Tours. As we plan for a future where we don't know the extent of how covid and future mutations will impact our business, we've come up with the following plan of action for how we will continue to operate in 2021 and beyond. This policy includes the measures we are actively taking to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. You are kindly requested to follow all these rules diligently, to sustain a healthy and safe experience. It’s important that we all respond responsibly and transparently to these health precautions. We assure you that we will always treat your private health and personal data with high confidentiality and sensitivity.

This coronavirus (COVID-19) company policy is susceptible to changes with the introduction of additional governmental guidelines. If so, we will update you as soon as possible by email.

General Hygiene

Wash your hands after using the toilet, before eating, and if you cough/sneeze into your hands (follow the 20-second hand-washing rule). You can also use the sanitizers.

Cough/sneeze into your sleeve, preferably into your elbow. If you use a tissue, discard it properly and clean/sanitize your hands immediately.

Avoid touching your face, particularly eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands to prevent from getting infected.

If you find yourself coughing/sneezing on a regular basis, you may be asked to leave the tour to mitigate risk.

Vaccinations

All customers and guides are required to receive their full dose of a Covid-19 vaccine at least 2 weeks prior to their tour departure date. If you are unwilling, or unable to get vaccinated, unfortunately you will not be able to take part in a Pitta Tours experience. Due to the severe nature of the illness and high death rate there is no reason to put our guides, families, other customers, and their families at unnecessary risk. The will be no reasonable accommodations for this rule at this time.

Masks

Masks MAY be required on tours depending on current case counts and rate of spread. Guides will determine if masks are needed at the time of the tour and will provide surgical masks if needed.

Face shields ARE NOT an acceptable substitution for masks. We highly recommend affordable KN95 masks, or 3-ply disposable medical masks, or other tight-fitting options of your choice.

Travel

Please follow all CDC recommendations for travel. At this time we do not have any specific recommendations for travel to and from Salt Lake City. During tours we will be traveling in 12-passenger vans that provide as much space as possible for our customers. We will attempt to stop the vehicles and allow time out of the vehicle every hour, specifically during transit between major destinations where the travel times are generally 2-4 hours.

Accommodations

During our tours we will be staying mostly at mid-major brands that have enhances cleaning policies during the pandemic. We also recommend taking steps to wipe down any surfaces you may be coming into contact with on a regular basis in your rooms.

Cancellations

We offer full refunds up to 30-days before the tour departure date, with a $5 service fee. Cancellations made 29-15 days before the tour departure are subject to a 25% service fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the tour departure date are non-refundable.

Of course, we understand every situation is different and we will always work with you to reschedule and/or refund when possible.
